Welcome to Time Being Therapy – Supporting Sensory Health for Adults

At Time Being Therapy, I specialize in enhancing sensory health and nervous system regulation for neurodivergent and sensory curious adolescents and adults. I understand how vital these elements are in shaping your daily experiences, engagement, and overall well-being.

My approach focuses on the critical link between sensory processing and nervous system balance. Through personalized occupational therapy, I help you develop tailored strategies to improve comfort, participation in daily activities, and your connection with yourself.

Whether you aim to better understand your sensory needs or enhance your involvement in meaningful activities, I’m here to support your journey toward a more harmonious and fulfilling life.

Neurodiversity-Affirming Occupational Therapy for Adolescents and Adults

Time Being Therapy provides neurodiversity-affirming occupational therapy to later-identified (through self or formal diagnosis) neurodivergent adolescents and adults seeking a deeper understanding of their unique experiences. My approach helps you explore how your neuroprofile impacts your daily life, relationships, and personal fulfillment. Together, we develop strategies and practices that support your well-being and enable you to engage meaningfully in the activities that matter most to you in the context of your life.

Collaborative Parent Partnerships

I offer support to parents of neurodivergent children or those who process the world differently. My goal is to help you gain a deeper understanding of how your child's unique experiences influence their behavior and interactions. Through a collaborative partnership, I aim to enhance your ability to connect with and support your child effectively, fostering a more attuned and positive relationship.

Occupational Therapy for the Adult Nervous System

For adults interested in exploring their nervous system's role in shaping behavior, impacting relationships, and guiding engagement and participation, my practice offers tailored occupational therapy. This approach focuses on developing a deeper connection with your own nervous system through a polyvagal theory-informed lens, understanding how it influences your responses and engagement with meaningful activities. I help you implement strategies to improve your overall well-being and enhance your quality of life.

Testimonials

  • Working with Sophia has been the most transformative experience I have ever had. Sophia's warm and supportive energy has allowed me to explore parts of myself I have never had the space to explore. She is a phenomenal therapist and a deeply empathic, kind, and supportive person. For the first time I have the tools and support to live my most authentic life. Sophia has been my guardian angel, and I do not know that I would do without her!

  • Sophia has been an absolute blessing in my 6-year old son’s life and has been an integral part of his growth over the last few years. The most important aspect of her approach is her work as a neurodivergent affirming therapist. She recognizes that my son’s Autism is not something that is wrong with him or needs to be fixed. I have learned through Sophia that his neurodivergent brain just interacts differently with the world, with unique strengths, interests and support needs. Working with a person who views your child in this light is wonderfully uplifting to a parent of a child with needs. Sophia is a fantastic resource for our family and is the most knowledgeable therapist we have ever worked with. She is passionate about what she does, therefore is always learning herself with current research. She is always available to problem solve and give us practical advice and solutions. I cannot say enough kind words about Sophia and her ability to make a positive impact on a child’s life.

  • Sophia changed the way I move through the world and helped me find different ways I can accommodate myself and ask for accommodations. As an adult with significant sensory issues, autism, and severe ADHD, working with Sophia was a life changing experience for me. I now feel much more confident and prepared when engaging with work and school and the world at large. We worked together for 2.5 years, and I definitely would not be as regulated today without the work we did in our sessions. With her help I was able to calm my nervous system, plan a wedding, and finish graduate school! Her knowledge and commitment to further education is incredible and I am so grateful for her support.
