Frequently Asked Questions

  • The focus of Occupational Therapy is to help individuals improve their ability to participate in meaningful daily activities, such as self-care, work, and leisure. It takes a practical, holistic, activity-based approach, addressing physical, cognitive, and sensory needs to enhance overall functional performance in addition to integrating the emotional aspects. My approach includes sensory exploration to help you understand and manage your sensory experiences, environmental modifications to adjust your surroundings for better support in daily activities, and adaptive strategies to develop personalized techniques for overcoming challenges. I also incorporate somatic work to address body awareness and physical sensations, focused attention practices to enhance concentration and mental clarity, relational inquiry to explore and improve interpersonal interactions, and neuroscience-based education to provide insights into brain function and cognitive processes, helping you develop strategies grounded in an understanding of your own neuroprofile.

  • My hourly rate is $190 for a 60 minute session, and $250 for the initial evaluation. For clients using insurance, we are in-network with BCBS. If you are seeking reimbursement from out-of-network insurance providers, payment will be required at the time of service, and a comprehensive superbill will be provided for you to submit to your insurance company. Please note that some services, such as parent collaboration, may not be covered by insurance and may be billed at a private pay rate. Additionally, insurance companies require a prescription from a physician (PCP or psychiatrist) for each client for occupational therapy treatment. This process is usually straightforward and will be explained further during the intake process.

  • I tailor sessions to meet individual needs, so services may be provided in various settings. Sessions can be conducted via telehealth, at the client's home, or in the community. Depending on your therapeutic goals and preferences, you may choose to use one or a combination of these settings. Currently I am licensed to provide services within the state of Illinois.

  • To minimize overwhelm, I keep initial intake paperwork to a minimum. During the first few sessions, we will complete any necessary questionnaires and sensory profiles. This is also a time for you to share your goals for therapy and discuss what you hope to further explore.

The timeline and process vary for each individual. Some clients may need just a few sessions to explore their goals, while others might engage in therapy for several months or even years to gain deeper insights and clarity.
